Applied Molecular Biology Post Baccalaureate Certificate

The Post Bac certificate program in Applied Molecular Biology and Biochemsitry (AMBB) offers an excellent framework for mastering advanced biochemistry and molecular biology concepts. Specifically, the program focuses on examining the structure and function of macromolecules and their application in biotech industrial applications. It aims to develop interdisplinary and integrative skills, preparing professionals to tackle challenges in the applied biochemistry and molecular biology industry. Students will gain hands-on experiemental experience and ample research opportunities, fostering the critical thinking and analytical skills needed for successful careers in the Biotechnology industry.

General Objectives

This program is designed to acquire hands-on experimental skills which are required to test the

principles governing advance molecular biology by using advanced methods and techniques in molecular biology laboratories.  The program also provides ample opportunities for students to develop research skills, including critical thinking and analysis.

Specific Objectives

1.  Students will acquire hands-on laboratory experiences in molecular and computation biologyused in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in investigating and resolving normal and abnormal structures and functions of biological molecules and learn to design and conduct research projects.

2.  Understand that several experimental methods can be used to achieve a specific goal.  Understand limitations for each research method and explore how each method is used to answer a wide range of biological questions.
