HIM 782 - RHIA Prep 3 Credit(s) AHIMA certification in HIM leads to career enhancement and advancement, increased earning potential and greater success in your chosen profession. AHIMA credentials are earned through a challenging plan of study at an accredited program and certification exam, and maintained through continuous review and education. This course is designed to prepare students for the RHIA Certification Exam. The RHIA is an expert in managing patient health information and medical records, administering computer information systems, collecting and analyzing patient data, and using classification systems and medical terminologies, in addition to influencing the financial viability of the organization. There is a review of the five key learning domains and competencies that employers have identified as the minimum expectations for an entry level graduate. There are assignments, quizzes and exams that will assess the students’ readiness to sit for the exam. Students will take a final exam that mirrors the actual certification exam. It will consist of 180 questions and the student will have 4 hours to take the exam. In addition students will have the opportunity to prepare their resume, develop interviewing skills and their capstone will be to complete a Personal Portfolio that reflects the student’s academic accomplishments
