The Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Applied Molecular Biology is intended for undergraduate degree students who are looking to advance a career, strengthen a biochemical background or prepare to acquire biologist position in various biotechnology laboratories or companies.  The Post Baccalaureate program also prepare students to work in either teaching or research positions, in both public and private sectors dealing with the chemical and biological sciences.

General Objectives

This program is designed to acquire hands-on experimental skills which are required to test the

principles governing advance molecular biology by using advanced methods and techniques in molecular biology laboratories.  The program also provides ample opportunities for students to develop research skills, including critical thinking and analysis.

Specific Objectives

1.  Students will acquire hands-on laboratory experiences in molecular and computation biologyused in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in investigating and resolving normal and abnormal structures and functions of biological molecules and learn to design and conduct research projects.

2.  Understand that several experimental methods can be used to achieve a specific goal.  Understand limitations for each research method and explore how each method is used to answer a wide range of biological questions.
