HIM 420 - Health Information Systems 3 Credit(s) Overview of health informatics, health information standards, personal health record, electronic health record and related information systems used in other healthcare environments and analysis of information systems for computerized health information collection, retrieval, and interpretation. The course also explores clinical terminology and architectural components as it relates to the development, implementation and operation of the electronic health record. Leadership components such as change management, project management and strategic planning are also explored as it relates to the transitioning of a health care facility to the electronic health record and related information systems.
