SPED 304 - Curriculum Objectives, Methods, and Materials for Teaching Learners with Mild and Moderate Disabilities in the Elementary/Middle Grades: Literacy Skills and Social Studies.

A study of the means by which learners with mild and moderate disabilities in the elementary/middle grades may accurately perceive and interpret the language of others and express themselves intelligently with as much clarity of meaning and consistency of syntax as possible through instruction in oral language, reading, and written expression, emphasizing special techniques of adaptation and modification. Methods of teaching Social Studies is also developed. As a Methods Block course a total of 20 days of Field Experience is required. This course is offered once a year during the Spring Semester.

Prerequisite(s): PRAXIS CORE and SPED 303  and SPED 402
