SPED 305 - Curriculum Objectives, Methods, and Materials for Teaching Learners with Mild and Moderate Disabilities in the Elementary/Middle Grades: Math and Science. 3 Credit(s) In order to interact with others predictably and adequately, learners with mild and moderate disabilities in the elementary/middle grade level must 1) be able to perform mathematical skills and handle associated tools accordingly, and 2) be able to demonstrate an understanding of the physical world in their daily activities. Special techniques and modifications are also emphasized along with science and mathematics curriculum components and materials development. As a methods block course, a total of 20 full days of Field Experience is required. This course is offered once a year during the Spring Semester.
Prerequisite(s): PRAXIS CORE and SPED 201, SPED 303 and SPED 402
